Salad Cap Monomakh

Ingredients for the "Cap of Monomakh" salad

  • 300 g pork
  • 1 carrot and 1 boiled beet
  • 3 boiled potatoes
  • 100-150 g of hard cheese
  • 4 boiled eggs
  • ½ can of canned green peas
  • pomegranate seeds
  • 50 g walnuts
  • mayonnaise
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • salt to taste


Boil the pork, cut into strips. Grate boiled potatoes and beets in different containers on a coarse grater. Peel the eggs, separate the yolks from the whites. Grate whites, yolks, raw carrots, hard cheese on a fine grater. Chop the walnuts. Pass the garlic through a press and mix with mayonnaise.

Put prepared ingredients on a dish in layers, coat each with ½ garlic sauce potatoes, beets, raw carrots, chopped nuts, chopped meat and canned green peas. Layer potatoes, yolks, cheese, meat, carrots on top in the same way. Each layer can be salted if desired. Cover the last layer with a layer of mayonnaise with garlic.

Mix the remaining grated cheese with mayonnaise and make the second tier of salad from it (the top of the "cap"). Pour grated protein and some chopped nuts on the cheese. Decorate the salad with pomegranate seeds and peas. Send the salad to the refrigerator.
